Evaluation of classroom and extra-classroom teaching activities of historical subjects from the perspective of students of the Department of History in educational colleges and their relationship to the development of historical thinking skills

This research aims to evaluate the curricular and extra-curricular activities of teachin history through the perspective of students of educational departments;it also aims to find their relationship in developing the thinking skills.To achieve this aim,the researcher uses an analytical method.The population of this research were third and fourth year students from the public universities of Kurdistan- Iraq;their number was(777)students.A random sample of(256)students,which is%33,were included in the research.The research tools consisted of two measures;one was the curricular and extra-curricular activities,which included(24)items;the other was the measures of historical thinking skills,which included(28)items.The psychometric measures were also determined;the validity of both measures were also determined.The face validity of curricular and extra-curricular measures were(%96)the historical thinking skills were(%92)Internal validity of all the items in both measures were congruent.Both measures were stabilized through(replicable tests)it was analyzed using the Pearson correlation.The stability of curricular and extra-curricular measures were(%79)alpha was(92.9)for historical thinking measures was(%89)alpha was(93.3)After the certainty of the measures was approved the items were distributed among the participants.The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS program. In light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations and recommendations have been made.
