The present research aims to examine administrative oversight regarding the sources of election campaign funding—through a comparative study—as well as judicial oversight of such funding sources. The researcher employed the descriptive-analytical method, the analysis of legal texts, and the inductive method, as these approaches are best suited to the nature of the research topic. The study is divided into two sections: the first addresses administrative oversight of election campaign funding sources (a comparative study), The second section examined—through a comparative study—judicial oversight regarding sources of election campaign funding. The study concluded that there are shortcomings in the Iraqi legislative framework governing such funding; neither the Independent High Electoral Commission Law No. (31) of 2019 nor the Political Parties Law No. (36) of 2015 provides detailed regulation for all sources of election funding. This creates an opening for undisclosed funding sources or sources whose legitimacy is difficult to verify. The study concluded by offering a number of recommendations.
