This paper analyzes in detail the role and influence of Iranian leftist parties and organizations in the 1978-1979 revolution. This study proves that the left movement, with all its organizational and intellectual diversity, was one of the main characters of the revolution. The left participated on several fronts: cultural and media struggle, mass organization (especially strikes), armed activity and international work to tarnish the regime. Despite their many sacrifices and decisive role in the revolution, the left eventually failed due to internal conflict, alienation from traditional Iranian society and strategic mistakes in dealing with the Islamic movement, but their intellectual and political legacy continues in Iranian liberation movements.
In this study, the descriptive analytical method is followed to present the factors, processes and role of the left in the Iranian revolution, based on academic sources in different languages. The research structure consists of three topics: the first topic focuses on the historical background of the left movement in Iran before the 1978-1979 revolution, the second topic emphasizes the economic, social and political reasons for the Iranian revolution 1978-1979 Open. Finally, we have reached several conclusions and presented them briefly.
The reason for choosing this topic is that the consequences of this revolution had an important impact on the leftist movement in Iran. The aim of this study is to highlight the role and influence of the left in the Iranian revolution and its impact on the stage of events and developments in Iran during the years 1978-1
