Abstract

This study analyzes the stylistic characteristics of poetic texts in children's literature, where imagery and rhythm are considered the two primary pillars of poetic construction. The main objective of the study is to demonstrate how these two elements are employed in children's poetry to produce a vivid text that aligns with a child's perception and understanding. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing stylistic theory to analyze language, imagery, and rhythm as fundamental components of poetic structure.

The most significant findings of the study indicate that children's poetry is rich in diverse imagery, allowing children to engage with the poem through all their senses—particularly through visual and kinetic (motion) imagery, which plays a major role in stimulating the child's imagination. On the other hand, rhythm—in both its external (meter and rhyme) and internal (repetition and parallelism) forms—serves as a key tool for creating poetic music, emphasizing meanings, and reinforcing them in the child's mind. In short, the stylistic formulation of imagery and rhythm in the selected texts corresponds to the child's cognitive and intellectual level, maintaining a balance between linguistic simplicity and artistic beauty.

The main purpose of the research is to determine how the writer has been able to use these tools and characteristics to create an effective text that fits the child's understanding and worldview, and can play an educational and artistic role at the same time. The research is presented within the framework of several main topics, in which theoretical aspects of images, types of imagery, rhythm and its types are explained. Then it will be applied in an analytical and practical manner on a number of selected poems from Svora magazine to reach and determine scientific results on how to use these features and their effect on children.
