Abstract

Today, linguistic studies are gradually increasing, and research conducted in multiple fields of language adds new knowledge and findings to the scientific community. As a result of these studies, new theories are conducted, and the importance of linguistic reform or structural needs within languages is often brought to the forefront. In particular, comparative studies between languages reveal noteworthy data and findings.

However, in some cases, linguists take another language as a model and estimate or structure their own language according to that language’s context. This situation may lead to the perception of missing elements or structural contradictions.

Although Turkish and Kurdish belong to two different language families, they share certain similarities due to their agglutinative structures. Therefore, investigating both languages while comparing is considered important in terms of identifying both similarities and differences.

This study observes the similarities, differences, and categorical issues related to verb voice structures in Turkish and Sorani Kurdish. In both languages, verbs are viewed in two main sections according to the subject–object relationship. In the first segment, verbs are examined separately in terms of their relation to the subject, and similarities, differences, category divisions, and other structural issues between the two languages are acknowledged. In the second segment, verbs are analyzed in terms of their relation to the object, and a comparative examination is conducted following the same method.

In the conclusion segment, the substantial findings and notes obtained from the study are presented in bullet points.
