(The art of correcting through interpretation, an analytical study)

Abstract

The art of correcting a matter through interpretation according to the Sunnis has many levels and effects such as correcting the mistakes of the predecessors removing ambiguities completing and avoiding shortcomings, and revealing facts. Al-Raze demonstrated the art of correcting interpretation and avoiding some of the mistakes of the predecessors, it is an interpretation based on tradition and opinion. Interpretations of the Shiites and the art of reconciling them with the predecessors, we see that there were many schools among them, such as the Al-Akbar school, them had their disagreement with the fundamentalists and their correctness in issues of prohibition and, prohibiting the statement of doubt, the method, the permissibility of imitating non-infallible people, and adopting the appearance of doubt. The result of these steps was to correct the ideas of the erring Akbar’s, which were written by Sheikh Wahid Al-Behbahani and other fundamentalist jurists at that time. The fundamentalists came out of their isolation and were able, through the Akbar’s and the books edited by Sheikh Al-Behbahani, to respond to the ideas of the Akbar’s and defend the diligent scholars. Some fundamentalists established laws to interpret and correct the methods and mistakes of news writers. This is why we see exegetical books written.
