Abstract

The comprehensiveness of Mikhail Naimy's literature prompted him to benefit from all cultures with their different sources. Therefore, we find that he benefited from Christian, Islamic and philosophical Sufism, and he found in all of that what enriched his thought, developed his pen and gave him legitimacy before readers and recipients in spreading his ideas and beliefs that he sought to convey to them. In Mikhail Naimy's view, Sufism was the spiritual tributary and pure reference in all his writings. He devoted many chapters and articles to it and praised its role in correcting human concepts and enlightening the paths for those who travel in this life. Therefore, he considered the New Testament a sacred and religious book for him. Mikhail Naimy did not start from a religious belief, but rather he contemplated his literature to create a general literature that combines religions and brings sects closer through his own method of spiritual and human Sufism that treats the heart and looks at it before the mortal body. We see through Sufi intertextuality that Mikhail Naimy was committed to the oriental heritage, which was full of spiritual and philosophical topics and titles that lead to the one God. In Naimy's articles, we came across many types of intertextuality, such as direct and indirect, as well as its mechanisms, such as regurgitation and absorption, stretching and brevity.
