This research, entitled Personality as a Historical Symbol in Abdullah Saraj's Novel (Slikook Hockler), is an attempt to show the characters that are used as historical symbols in the novel, as the author, for some socio-political reasons, has used them as symbols for the historical characters in accordance with the needs of the text and the obvious characters outside the text.
Symbols are a means of expressing unspoken concepts, in which messages appear in the light of symbols. Symbols make us feel a kind of obscurity and loss. Symbols have deep roots in all humanities and natural sciences, especially in the field of literature and art, has been able to give a high and beautiful image to literary works in all literary genres, at the same time symbols are a powerful and effective factor.
This issue is of interest to researchers in Kurdish research and needs further research. Therefore, we have rewritten this research on this issue. Symbols are an important tool for writers to express the subjects, events and characters that have difficulty in expressing them openly. Readers can reveal hidden subjects and characters through symbols.Slick Hockler's novel is one of the most historical characters used as a symbol, so we thought it necessary to conduct our research on this subject. According to the descriptive and analytical methods, we aim to identify the historical figures used as historical symbols in the novel. The paper consists of a summary, an introduction and two parts: the first part: the terms, definitions, principles and types of symbols, the second part is the practical practice.
