The objectives of the Quran and their impact on understanding the Quranic text - an analytical study

Abstract

Familiarity with the intent of the Qur’anic surahs is considered a fundamental principle in understanding and contemplating the words of God, Glory be to Him. The relationship of objectives to understanding the Qur’an and revealing its meaning, as knowledge of the objectives of the Shari’a is not intended for itself, but is intended to be implemented and invested in understanding and directing Qur’anic texts This research takes a holistic view of the surahs, clarifying their general objectives and overall goals.

It comprises an introduction and two main sections. The first section, titled "The Legal and Methodological Foundations of Qur'anic Objectives," includes two subsections. The first subsection is titled "The Legislative Authority of Qur'anic Objectives and Their Sources of Derivation."

The second subsection is titled "The Standard Guidelines for Applying Objectives in Qur'anic Interpretation." The second section was titled: (The Applied Impact of Objectives on Understanding and Thematic Classification). It was also divided into two parts: the first, the role of objectives in clarifying meaning and resolving conflicts; and the second, the objectives-based approach to classifying Quranic chapters and topics. Then we concluded the research with a set of findings that will be presented at the end of the study.
