Spatial analysis of population growth rates in Thi Qar Governorate for the period 1997-2025 and its future prospects until 2035

Studying population growth is of paramount importance, as such studies provide an accurate picture for population and development planners in particular, and for decision-makers in general, enabling them to take sound steps based on a reliable foundation of demographic data. This data is the cornerstone of successful development plans and planning in general. Therefore, studying the population growth of Thi Qar Governorate during the specified period will undoubtedly contribute to the success of development plans for the study area. The study aims to present the population growth rates of the population of Thi Qar Governorate for the period from 1997 to 2025 and what the population size in the study area will be in 2035. The study concluded that the annual rate of population growth of Thi Qar Governorate decreased during the study period from (3.4%) during the period (1997 - 2007) to (2.4%) for the period (2017 - 2025), and that Al-Jubayish District had the highest annual rate of population growth, which reached (5.2%), and the lowest annual growth rate appeared in Suq Al-Shuyukh District (2.3%) during the study period. Al-Akaika district had the lowest annual population growth rate of (0.3%), while Al-Hammar district had the highest annual growth rate during the study period of (9%). The population of Thi Qar Governorate will reach approximately (3,278,352, 3,408,688, 3,342,948) people based on the three possibilities used in the research.References
