Abstract

This study titled The Kurds in the Machiavellian Scale between the Legitimacy of Oppression and Kurdish Self-Sacrifice seeks a philosophical and political analysis of the Kurdish national question the research attempts to uncover the relationship between Machiavellian authoritarianism and the justifications employed by occupying powers to legitimize their tyranny accordingly the study is divided into four main sections each exploring a critical aspect of this issue the first section highlights the concept of authoritarianism in Machiavelli and how it is utilized by occupying states to rationalize the repression of the Kurdish people the second section discusses the strategies employed by occupiers to maintain their hegemony and divide the internal Kurdish structure demonstrating how internal fragmentation leads to the weakening of the Kurdish position

In the third section the discourse of oppression and the mechanisms used to erase the Kurdish national identity are addressed this section explains how occupiers have attempted to destroy the cultural and historical dimensions of this nation through various means finally in the fourth section the political reality of the Kurds is analyzed between the ethics of resistance and the balance of power in this axis it is discussed how the Kurds are caught between maintaining the ethical principles of struggle and engaging with the rigid balance of regional power

This study through the descriptive-analytical method reaches the conclusion that the survival of the Kurds requires a radical shift in their understanding of political philosophy it is necessary for Kurdish political discourse to move from the stage of victimhood toward the stage of power agency and mutual interest because in the Machiavellian world only power and geopolitical standing preserve legitimacy and survival
