Impact of the Aylul Revolution on Balakatay District in terms of Economy, Education, and Health (1961-1975)

Balakayati is a large district situated along the Iranian border, connecting Haji Omaran with Iran. During the Aylul Revolution (1961- 1975), Ballakayati emerged as a prominent center of revolutionary activity, particularly after Mala Mustafa Barzani relocated there from Sarkapkan in 1965. From that point onward, the district gained increasing significance in various spheres.

During Aylul Revolution, Balakayati was subjected to repeated bombardment by diverse military aircraft, resulting in the deaths of dozens of civilians. Given the importance of this subject, we conducted this research to present the history of Balakayati during that period, structured with an introduction and three main themes, each examining both the positive and negative impacts of the Aylul Revolution on the district.

In this research, I have relied on the method of historical narrative and analysis, since the subject is about a great Kurdish revolution, in which a number of major events are presented, and the necessary analysis and consequences are presented in several ways The methods used in order to reach the academic context of the research.

The research consists of three topics. The first topic discusses the geographical boundaries and administrative aspects of Balakaity region. The first topic is the economic aspects of Balakaity and its influence The second topic discusses education and its effects on the region. The third topic discusses health during the revolution and its effects.
