The Family Counselor and Their Role in Muslim Society - Lessons from the Story of the Companion Khawla bint Tha'laba

Abstract

This research entitled (The Family Counselor and Their Role in Muslim Society - Lessons from the Story of the Companion Khawla bint Tha'laba) aims to understand the concept of family counseling from the Islamic perspective. The researcher adopted the analytical methodology to achieve the research objectives, and the research reached some results including: that the counselee should intend in requesting counseling to reach correct knowledge, and how to treat the problem they have fallen into. Also, the counselee should choose the appropriate means to convey their consultation to the counselor, and they should not hide any aspect of their consultation so that the counselor can understand the issue from all its aspects. The research also recommended that the family counselor should stay informed about the latest developments and techniques in the field of family guidance, while participating in continuous training programs to develop their skills from all aspects. Also, there must be cooperation between governmental and non-governmental bodies to prepare and train specialists in this field. The researcher adopted the analytical approach, where he included the necessary foundations for the connotations of the topics, then analyzed and explained them until their intended meaning became clear. The researcher also postponed writing the list of sources until the end of the research. He was satisfied with indicating the name of the author or his known nickname and the title of the source. The researcher saw that the work plan should be in two topics, and each topic has two requirements.
