Spatial analysis of cancer types in Duhok Governorate 2012-2024

Cancer diseases are witnessing a widespread increase globally, with a significant number of cases being recorded annually, resulting in the deaths of millions of people worldwide. Cancer affects individuals of all age groups and both genders without exception. Despite scientific advancements, the primary causes of cancer remain largely unknown. Medical studies and statistical data indicate a noticeable rise in cancer incidence rates in Duhok Governorate, along with a variation in the distribution of different cancer types within the region.
This study aims to highlight the geographical distribution of cancer cases in Duhok Governorate during the period from 2012 to 2024. Additionally, it seeks to analyze the incidence rates by type and location, considering cancer to be an increasingly serious public health concern.
The study reached several important findings, most notably the identification of cancer incidence rates across the center of Duhok Governorate and its affiliated districts. According to the study’s data,
