Social Security and Human Rights

Abstract

The concept of social security and human rights has occupied a prominent position in the research and studies of scholars, thinkers and specialized researchers at various levels. Social security is a fundamental pillar in building past and present human civilizations that have sought in their priorities to provide security and stability by emphasizing the components of security and the factors that lead to its achievement in order to direct the efforts of its people towards the process of construction and development and achieving the process of development and modernization. Among these processes is ensuring the basic rights of the human being, considering that security is a general rule for the purposes of legislation. This research comes to clarify the relationship between the concepts of social security and human rights, considering that the former is one of the components of human security because it is a fundamental pillar for the stability of human life.

It can be said that social security is closely linked to all elements of social life, as it is linked to the provision of protection and reassurance for individuals within society in its educational, health, religious, cultural, criminal, economic, political and social dimensions. This is achieved through the provision of resources for the necessities of life and the preservation of human rights. Consequently, the world has witnessed an increasing interest in human rights issues at the global level, as it has become the talk of the hour through official and unofficial international platforms, with respect for rights, as well as continuous media campaigns calling for the protection of human rights.
