Abstract

The research dealt with the historical references of Ibn Al-Shajari's selections of Arab poets, and showed the poets' benefit from historical events due to their great impact on constructing the text, drawing lessons from them, and applying them to their reality to demonstrate their importance. History and its events are of great importance to the poet, as through them he shows us the most important figures who deserve to be mentioned, and the noble deeds they did to serve the tribe and society, and other historical matters that are a cultural treasure for poets from which they draw what serves the construction of their text, and serves the idea they seek to reach.
