The story of Adam, peace be upon him, in the Holy Quran: An Analytical Study

Abstract

The research talks about the story of Adam, peace be upon him, in the Holy Quran. The research aims to: clarify the events of the story of Adam, peace be upon him, from the dialogue between God and his angels, the submission of the angels to God's command, the refusal of Satan and his disobedience to God’s command, the settlement of Adam and his wife in Paradise, the disagreement of scholars regarding Adam’s Paradise, the seduction of Adam and his wife in Paradise by Satan, and we also touched on the difference between the disobedience of Adam and Satan, and the most important lessons learned from the story. As for the research method: I adopted the analytical method, and as for the most important results, I reached several results, including: what is meant by the word “caliph” is Adam, peace be upon him, and the prophets of his offspring, and the most likely opinion regarding Adam’s Paradise is the opinion of scholars who see that Adam’s Paradise is the eternal Paradise, and it became clear to me that disobeying God’s command is a greater sin than committing what He forbade; God forbade Adam from eating from the tree. When he ate from it, he repented to God, and God accepted his repentance. As for Satan, God commanded him to prostrate to Adam, but he did not do what God commanded him to do. He did not repent from the sin as Adam did, so God did not forgive him. God favored man, honored him, and made him God's vicegerent on Earth to implement His law. He taught him the laws and rulings, taught Adam all the names, and made His angels prostrate to Adam.
