Abstract

ABSTRACT:

The families of the prophets played a significant role in establishing the                   pillars of their message and confronting their enemies. This was achieved by spreading their message, dispelling suspicions about them, adhering to their principles, serving as good successors to their predecessors, and defending them in various aspects. They were also, at times, enemies of the prophets. The Qur'an emphasizes the role of the families of the prophets (peace be upon them). Therefore, we must address the most important educational and moral aspects derived from the Prophets' concern for their families and their role in these messages through the Qur'an, using a descriptive and analytical approach. After studying the families of the prophets, they were prominent in many Quranic verses due to their positive or negative role. The purpose of narrating the stories of the prophetic families was to highlight the religious duties that people have, such as supporting religion, following the truth, and avoiding polytheism. These were represented in two parts: some families had positive roles supporting the prophets, such as the story of Zachariah and his wife, Job and his wife, and some families had negative roles, such as the family of Abraham, Lot and his wife, and Noah and his son. Due to the limited scope of the research, we focused in this research on families with a negative role to show what should be avoided of the forbidden things in raising Islamic families. These families were represented in three families: the family of Noah, Lot, and Abraham (peace be upon them). The research concludes that the story of Noah requires the husband to support the messages, not oppose them, and to abandon the family who fights religion out of disbelief. It also demonstrates the ideal role of the father in advising his children. The story of Lot and his wife also demonstrates that the Muslim wife must believe in God Almighty, avoid disbelief, and not violate divine law. It also demonstrates that the husband must be firm with a wife who betrays her faith, as this can lead to destruction. The story of Abraham and his father demonstrates that a righteous preacher must possess the best morals and virtues, and be patient in calling his family. The Muslim preacher must begin his preaching with those closest to him, demonstrating to those he is calling the weakest of deities besides God Almighty, and that they do not deserve worship. He must also forbid those he is calling to from obeying Satan, which will ultimately lead to his worship.
