This study aims to shed light on the concept of forgiveness and tolerance in Islam and demonstrate their impact on strengthening family cohesion, particularly in raising children and correcting deviant behaviors such as aggression and violence. The study focuses on clarifying the boundaries of forgiveness and tolerance as presented in Islamic texts, emphasizing the importance of adopting these values as a civilized alternative to the violence that threatens societal stability and family cohesion. The study employs an analytical approach, examining religious texts and educational concepts derived from Islamic culture. It demonstrates that forgiveness and tolerance contribute to instilling love, strengthening social bonds, increasing an individual's self-control, and overcoming feelings of resentment and the desire for revenge. Furthermore, it reveals that tolerant individuals enjoy wider social acceptance and are better equipped to achieve psychological and social balance, which positively impacts both the family and society as a whole.
Furthermore, tolerance and forgiveness are among the noble moral values that Islam encourages, due to their profound impact on building and strengthening societies. The merit of these two values is evident in their ability to eliminate the causes of enmity and discord, and to achieve social peace within the family and society. God Almighty sent His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) with the tolerant and upright religion of Islam as a mercy to all mankind, a religion that embodies the virtues of affection, forgiveness, and mutual counsel, as emphasized in the texts of the Holy Quran and the noble Sunnah.
