Setting up Digital library Scientific research services At the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies using the system

Abstract

the research aims to establish a digital library to serve scientific research at the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies using the open source Dspace system, and to develop library work procedures at the Institute of Informatics that provide services that enable the needs of researchers to be satisfied in a way that facilitates the access process by making the full text of books available. The researcher used a descriptive approach. Anointedly; An experimental approach was used to prepare a proposed model for establishing a digital library for the institute. The sample was (50) books in the field of computers. The system was then presented for evaluation by postgraduate students (higher diploma, master’s, doctorate) to demonstrate the extent of benefit from its creation and practical application. The research reached several results, the most prominent of which is: investing in the capabilities of the Dspace system in establishing the digital library to serve scientific research at the Informatics Institute due to its ease of use and high flexibility.

Investing the capabilities of the Dspace system in creating a digital library to serve scientific research at the Informatics Institute, due to its ease of use and support for the Arabic language in a manner that is consistent with the Arabic content of libraries and appropriate to the requirements of beneficiaries. The Dspace system works to provide the full text of information sources, which contributed to raising the efficiency of search and retrieval and reducing the efforts of workers at the Informatics Institute.
