The correct interpretation of the Holy Quran can be achieved using different methods, one of which is the use of “context”. Neglecting this method sometimes makes the interpreter make mistakes in understanding the verses. This research aims to study the uses of context in interpreting verses of the Holy Qur’an on the basis of Tafsir al-Tibyan and compare it with Tafsir Majmil al-Bayan in order to demonstrate the importance of context in interpretation. The verses and the effect of interest and lack of interest in this connection in forming interpretation opinions. In this article, after a brief look at the meaning of context in pronunciation and terminology and the types of its use and conditions, a comparative study of the performance of Sheikh al-Tusi and Allama al-Tabarsi as prominent representatives in the interpretation of the two teams is discussed.
