Abstract

The current research aims to identify the most important knowledge and information presented by social networks and the aspects of enhancing them, as well as identifying the most important aspects related to the decline in self-esteem of users of these networks and the psychological and behavioral risks associated with them through create questionnaire that included four domains: Knowledge and Information, Enhancing Social Communication, declining Self-Esteem, and the Risks of misuse of social networks,through the general index of the percentage measurement averages of these domains, the results of the estimates came to 81.30%, 80.10%, 79.05%, and 80.10% respectively, through a non-probability sample from the city of Baghdad (200) people distributed on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa, with a highly level of significant achieved by testing the randomness of these indicators at P<0.01.In light of the results of these estimates, the misuse of social networks has a negative effects due to the decline in self-esteem of its users, which requires immunization as much as possible from not falling into its pitfalls.

High levels of observed responses support the importance of enhancing social communication offered by social media networks in general, as all items in the axis received a high rating of agreement, which confirms the high importance of the uses of social media networks in enhancing social communication related to their users among the Iraqi public. High levels of observed responses regarding the decline in self-esteem as a result of the harms caused by excessive use of social media networks in general, as all items in the axis received a high rating of agreement, which confirms the high decline in self-esteem resulting from excessive use of social media networks among the Iraqi public.
