Abstract

Courage and chivalry have an important impact in Arabic poetry and are considered high moral values, and they cannot be dispensed with, because they express the personal belongings of the individual, and they are the ones who determine what must be done or avoided, direct our behavior to others, and relate to people’s morals. Courage is a moral value linked to morals, which guides a person. To excellence and sophistication, and taking the path of goodness and benefit, as well as chivalry, which is a noble character and high etiquette that distinguishes a person from other creatures. They are linked to each other in meaning to express the value of a person’s morals. The importance of this study came due to the importance of the great values ​​in the life of the Islamic nation. They occupied a prominent place in literary studies, and this is likely to be a basic pillar for every human perception, and a starting point for every serious study that wants to understand the dimensions of the text and its aesthetic backgrounds, because of the wide possibilities it contains. The poet was able The Arab-Islamic language uses it for most poetic purposes. The aim of this research is to carefully consider the use of the aesthetics of courage and chivalry and how to deal with them according to the various poetic purposes of the poet himself. The descriptive and analytical approach was used as a tool to reveal the use of the aesthetic of courage and chivalry in Jarir’s poetry and to demonstrate its effectiveness. The ancient Arabs were most distinguished by courage, as it is considered one of the most moral values ​​that Jarir addressed, and it formed a large space and a huge amount in his poetry, due to the importance of this characteristic in the life of the Arab, and defining his identity, because it is a generous creation and a noble description that compels the soul to possess virtues. He guards it from being characterized by vices, and it is the source of noble morals and good qualities. It is one of the most cherished morals of Islam and the proudest of the Arabs’ morals, which is the courage to confront hardship and the steadfastness of fear. As for chivalry, it is honesty in the tongue, tolerance for missteps, giving good deeds, abstaining from harm, perfection in manhood, and fluency of the face, and it is an inherent characteristic of the Arab man. Whoever lacks it has no value, no status is considered for him, and it is considered a requirement of manhood for them.
