Abstract

The novel "Scattered Memoirs" by Shahira Mamoun is a literary work characterized by diversity and depth، as the writer presents an exciting and well-crafted novel that explores diverse worlds through the stories of the different characters that she skillfully and brilliantly weaves. The novel deals with many social and cultural issues and explores the depth of human emotions through the experiences of the characters، making it a haven rich in ideas and reflections. The events of the novel revolve around different characters، each with their own history and context، which adds depth to the narrative and diversity to the plot. The characters' stories intertwine and are sometimes complex، forming an interconnected narrative fabric. This intertwined fabric allows the writer to present a comprehensive vision of the fictional world where the characters' lives intersect and influence each other. Since the novel is of great importance in our present era and is considered a means of expressing complex human experiences and a tool for understanding and communication between cultures، it is necessary for there to be studies such as this to benefit the reader to gain an understanding of modern texts and novels through the experience lived by the narrator. This study relied on the descriptive-analytical approach and the mechanisms of the structural approach that enabled us to study the characteristics of place، time، or characters or their interrogation in this novel. Among the results reached by the study is that the writer shows skill in using transitions between different times to link the present to the past and provide a deeper vision of the characters and events in their lives. This temporal shift adds depth to the novel، as new dimensions of the characters are revealed to the reader and he can better understand their motives and orientations. The novel shows the effective use of symbolism and connotations، as the writer expresses her thoughts and feelings indirectly through hidden signs and meanings. This symbolism adds depth to the story and opens doors to interpretation and multiple thinking، which makes the text more complex and rich.
