Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the causes of sexual (gender) identity disorder from the point of view of faculty members at the University of Kirkuk and to identify ways to treat it from the point of view of faculty members The research community consisted of Kirkuk University teachers, numbering (1561), and a sample of (200) male and female teachers of both genders was taken from the scientific and humanities colleges. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher prepared a questionnaire to identify the causes of gender identity disorder from the point of view of university professors, which consisted of four areas and (32) paragraphs, and another questionnaire to identify ways to treat gender identity disorder from their point of view, which also consisted of four areas and (32) paragraphs. To verify the psychometric properties, the validity and reliability of the first and second questionnaires were extracted, and the reliability rate reached (0.72) for the causes questionnaire and (0.83) for the treatment methods questionnaire after correction with Spearman's correlation coefficient. 1- The most prominent causes of gender identity disorder from the point of view of faculty members were: A- Negligence in applying Islamic rituals, the first of which is prayer. B- Excessive free time, unemployment and wasting time on social media. C- Some members of society view this phenomenon as personal freedom. D- Exposure to continuous bullying in all its forms - The most important ways to treat gender identity disorder from the point of view of faculty members were: - A- Monitoring children's use of the Internet and social media. B- Deepening faith in the correct and sound doctrine and following the teachings of the Islamic religion. C- Reinforcing correct responses and ignoring any incorrect response. D- Helping him accompany a good role model and learn by modeling. C- Helping him remove negative ideas, concepts and beliefs that are not compatible with society. 1-Working on establishing guidance programs that explain the psychological and social harms of those with gender identity disorders. 2- Raising children in a sound manner based on religious education so that we can help them overcome incorrect sexual practices.
