Abstract

The aim of this research is to highlight the role of festivals in marketing tourism and attracting tourists to Kalar City by showcasing the natural and human potentials of the area, which facilitate the organization of various types of festivals. Additionally, the study seeks to demonstrate the capacity of festivals to promote tourism in the region by generating employment opportunities, fostering trade exchange, and attracting tourists and visitors to these events.

To achieve the research objectives, both descriptive and quantitative methodologies were employed. Data were collected from official sources and organizations, and the results were presented in various tables. Furthermore, spatial data for the phenomena under study were obtained using Google Earth Pro and subsequently reorganized and visualized in the form of maps through Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

In line with its objectives, the research is divided into three main themes: The first theme outlines the theoretical framework of the study, discussing the concepts of festivals and tourism marketing. The second theme focuses on analyzing the potentials of the study area for hosting festivals. The third theme examines the role of festivals in marketing tourism and attracting tourists to Kalar City.

In conclusion, the research has reached several key findings, including that the study area possesses numerous natural and human resources suitable for organizing various types of festivals. Moreover, festivals serve as a vital tool for marketing tourism and attracting tourists to Kalar City.
