Abstract

Divorce is one of the most prominent social problems facing societies today. The divorce rate is noticeably increasing, threatening family stability and social cohesion. The family is the cornerstone of a nation, and its disintegration affects the entire social system. In the city of Hibhib, a rise in divorce cases has been observed recently, particularly among couples in the early years of marriage, reflecting a complex web of social, cultural, and economic problems. Among the most significant causes of divorce in modern times are financial issues, such as stinginess, failure to provide financial support, and living with family members.

Other contributing factors include non-material issues like poor partner selection, parental neglect, infidelity, and a lack of problem-solving skills on the part of both spouses.

The consequences are numerous, most notably family breakdown, the loss of children, social isolation, and a tendency towards loneliness and solitude. Children's psychological problems, behavioral issues, aggression, and weakened family bonds within the community are all contributing factors. To address this phenomenon, efforts must be made to spread religious and educational awareness about the importance of the family and to strengthen the role of religious leaders in resolving disputes before divorce occurs. Furthermore, awareness programs specifically targeting youth in the city of Hibhib should be implemented to promote a culture of marital responsibility and family dialogue.

Husbands should carefully choose their wives, taking into account social, financial, moral, and other differences. Parents should not force their daughters into marriage but should leave the decision to the girl herself. Similarly, child marriage and early marriage should be avoided.

Husbands and wives should adhere to the Prophet's teachings, avoid marital infidelity, stay away from places of suspicion, and refrain from the negative use of the internet.

Educational seminars should be held in Hibhib on this topic, highlighting the dangers, harms, and consequences of divorce, as well as methods of addressing it. Divorce leads to the disintegration and collapse of the family, leaving children caught between their mother and father, and ultimately resulting in their failure in life and becoming a burden on society.
