Abstract

       The issue of community integration has become a concern for all countries, international and local organizations, and social and humanitarian professions such as the social service profession. If development efforts and programs are necessary for ordinary individuals, then they are more necessary and important in the case of individuals living in special circumstances, such as those deprived of family care who received their care within residential institutions, as there are still many challenges and obstacles that prevent them from achieving their psychological, social, and societal compatibility. One of their most important needs after leaving residential institutions is to achieve their social integration. This research seeks to try to identify the historical origins of the process of social integration and to identify the obstacles to the social integration of graduates of state orphanages, and to identify these obstacles whether they are obstacles related to state orphanages, obstacles related to society and obstacles related to graduates of state orphanages. To achieve this goal, the research was divided into three sections. The first section included: the general framework of the study and included the elements of the research and included the definition of the research problem, its importance and objectives. Secondly, the concepts related to the research topic represented by the concepts of each of social integration, the role of the state and obstacles, while the second section was entitled the historical origins of the process of social integration. The third section included the obstacles that prevent the achievement of the process of social integration of orphans who graduated from state orphanages.
