The concept of empowerment has become a necessity that must be addressed and understood within the contexts of Qur’anic discourse, especially concerning women. This status has diminished in light of the turbulent ideological currents impacting their capacities, making women more susceptible to drowning in the woes of globalization, the call for modernization, and recreational practices more than ever before. Therefore, it is essential to address this topic based on the fundamental pillar that outlines our path of faith and behavior—the Holy Qur’an. The Qur’an, as the primary source of Islamic law, has paid significant attention to the issue of women, establishing solid foundations and principles for their rights. Islam has honored women, granting them a prestigious status and making them one of the pillars of the family, which is the nucleus of society and a fundamental cornerstone for its construction. This concern is manifested in dedicating an entire chapter titled (Women) that addresses women’s affairs, rights, and duties within the family and society. Nevertheless, the interpretation and application of these Qur’anic texts have witnessed differences and variations throughout history, leading to diverse viewpoints regarding women’s roles in society and their status within the family. These views have ranged from those leaning towards strictness and restriction to those favoring liberation and an expansion of interpretations in line with contemporary developments. In this context, the interpretation (Min Huda al-Qur’an) by Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi emerges as an important reference that reflects a somewhat different perspective on the status of women, through his interpretative and intellectual methodology influenced by the temporal and intellectual contexts in which he lived. He seeks to connect the Qur’anic text with contemporary issues. It is anticipated that he will offer different insights regarding the status of women, thereby opening new avenues for discussion and dialogue.
