Poetry engages with human feelings in an honest, refined, and artistic manner. Through poetry, the beauty of life as well as its problems are identified and expressed using clear, eloquent language. As a literary form, poetry reflects human experience and social reality while appealing to both emotion and intellect.
Talaat Taher is one of the prominent modernist poets. Through his use of simple yet expressive language drawn from everyday life, he reaches deeply into the human mind from a philosophical and romantic perspective. Payizi Zaeem is one of Taher’s most powerful and significant poems, in which he criticizes political leadership using a simple yet sarcastic tone. The poem exposes the misuse of authority, the waste of public wealth, and the concentration of power for personal gain. At the same time, it offers sharp social criticism, highlighting how such leadership contributes to the collapse of social values, families, and society as a whole.
Social criticism is an important type of literary criticism found in both poetry and prose genres such as short stories and novels. It primarily focuses on texts that emerge from social realities and address societal and everyday life issues. Such works identify social problems, raise awareness, and often suggest solutions, aiming to reform society and contribute to the creation of a healthier and more just social structure. Our research is divided into two parts. The first part consists of four themes. We have worked on social criticism in a theoretical way. The second part consists of two topics. The first topic is some statements about Tal'at Tahir; The second theme is that we have worked on the cham in a practical way; We have identified and analyzed the criticisms socially. We conclude our study with some conclusions and a list of sources; We have also presented a summary of the research in Arabic and English.
