Abstract

In Aziz Nesin's story "Which Party Will Win?", translated into Arabic by Farouk Mustafa, we find satirical events. Satire is not merely for laughter; for the author, it used to express psychological repression, oppression, and the tyranny of the ruling power in Turkey. Satire is also a unique way to address critical issues in society through ironic language.

"Which Party Will Win?" is one of Aziz Nesin's most famous stories, particularly in its depiction of politicians' false promises. The narrative text becomes a shared space where the author's psychological world intersects with the reader's inner world, creating a process of mutual influence that may leave a lasting impact on the reader's psyche.

The psychology of the text provides one of the main approaches to understanding this story, which raises political and social issues, as well as questions about the meaning of satire. The importance of this research is significant because it helps us understand its social, political, and intellectual dimensions. Aziz Nesin was known for using dark comedy and satire to expose the contradictions in society and politics, and this story opens the door for the reader and researcher to discover its profound messages. Although the story belongs to the genre of satirical realism within Nesin's narrative project in Turkey, it is considered one of the works in which he expressed his satirical critique of Turkey at that time. The story revolves around the character of "Murad Agha," who becomes embroiled in the difficulties of political life after his country faced dictatorship and authoritarianism. The story serves as a clear indication of the significant backwardness experienced by Turkish society and its political system in the twentieth century.

We began our research with a psychological study of the text and a psychoanalytic analysis of the story's analytical models, and then moved on to the life of the Turkish writer Aziz Nesin. Then the concepts of psychology within the story.
