Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social dimensions of ancient Egyptian society through the story of The Two Brothers in the New Kingdom period (1569–1081 BCE). It seeks to demonstrate the values and social relations embodied in this literary text in order to provide a clearer picture of life and social structures in ancient Egypt during the period under investigation. The central research problem lies in how this story can serve as a mirror of ancient Egyptian society, allowing for the exploration of its various social aspects.

By employing the historical descriptive-analytical method, the research concludes that the story of The Two Brothers, through its unfolding events, reveals social values, the status of the family, class distinctions, the nature of familial relations, social justice, reward and punishment on one hand, and the significance of the economy as well as the interplay between religion and administration in ancient Egyptian society on the other. In conclusion, this literary text can be considered an important source for understanding the social dimensions of ancient Egyptian society. This research is divided into two main parts. The first part is more about surveying the story, discussing and introducing the history of the story, how it came to us and the material on which the story is recorded Alongside the written language and its current place of preservation, as well as the content and text of the story itself, in the second part we will focus on the historical analysis of the social dimensions of the events in the story in terms of relationships Social and family, justice, gender treatment, economic and agricultural status, with the relationship of religion and politics to the social aspects of ancient Egyptian society during the new state.
