Digital transformation has witnessed numerous significant developments as a result of continuous advancements in information and communication technologies, which have contributed to radical changes across various areas of institutional work. Among these modern technologies, big data has emerged as a key tool supporting digital transformation processes, alongside other innovative technologies.
This research aims to review the literature on "Utilizing Big Data to Enhance Digital Transformation in Libraries." The review encompassed 26 studies, revealing how big data can be used to promote digital transformation in libraries and information centers. It also identifies the main themes and trends addressed in these studies, as well as the technical and administrative challenges associated with big data utilization, highlighting gaps and proposing future research directions based on the analysis results.
The research reached several conclusions, most notably that big data is a fundamental tool for supporting digital transformation in libraries and information centers, although its application level remains uneven across institutions. The results also demonstrated the diversity of thematic areas covered by the studies, including big data applications, service development, decision support, technical and human challenges, and the role of digital transformation in improving institutional performance. Based on these results, the study recommended the need to develop the digital infrastructure in libraries in a way that supports the efficient application of big data technologies and to work on qualifying and training human resources in the field of big data analysis and related technologies.
