Abstract

This research aims to identify contemporary global trends in the field of preparing (students/teachers), and to take advantage of these trends in developing a proposed concept for the development of teacher preparation programs in pedagogical colleges. The research came to the conclusion of developing a proposed concept for the development of preparation programs (students/teachers) based on contemporary trends, based on the results of previous research that dealt with this field. The research recommended that the faculties of education in the Universities of the Kurdistan Region conduct a review and development of their teacher training programs, based on contemporary global trends, and in a way that meets the requirements of (students/teachers) in the educational field, achieves the aspirations of society, and suits the requirements of the Times. The research also made several proposals, including:

1. Review the system of selection and admission policies for students in teacher preparation programs, through the application of criteria that ensure the selection of the best advanced levels globally, and the application of an integrated preparation system within the Faculty of Education.

 2. Review the period of practical education so that the duration of its application is longer.

3. Expanding the field of cooperation between the faculties of education and civil society institutions, in order to achieve the construction of programs that meet the requirements of the labor market and provide the needs and aspirations of society.
