Abstract

Management has never had a single definition, but the philosophies and ideas of great figures throughout history have shaped it, and its underlying knowledge has allowed it to become what it is today: a reflective, conceptual, and practical science. Management is a discipline enriched by contributions from other fields. Religion, military science, psychology, engineering, mathematics, social sciences and humanities, and philosophy have all contributed to the conceptual and practical development of management and organization. Discussing management science involves discussing a discipline established by many researchers as one that moves from concept to application. In the digital age, combating corruption has found a powerful ally in artificial intelligence. Thanks to its ability to analyze massive amounts of data and uncover hidden patterns, this technology offers unprecedented tools for management to detect and prevent fraud. However, its practical application remains very limited and fraught with challenges. This study explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can revolutionize the fight against corruption. We consider the governance, organizational, human, and ethical dilemmas posed by this technological revolution. While the scientific work in management science evolves with the times and needs of the era, the term "management" was not explicitly used, but indirect references to administrative functions were always applicable. During this period, management was primarily focused on structuring human life and creating material transformations to produce products or services that benefited humanity and the social structure. Because it was considered inherent to humanity, management was not conceived as an external matter but rather as a human skill. Therefore, if one was an administrator, one could be a good ruler. However, the concept gradually evolved, and management acquired an organizational function between rulers and the ruled. By the end of antiquity, management was understood to encompass a leader or head who organized and distributed power and responsibilities through administrative structures.
