Selective silence among Iraqi university staff

The current study sought to identify employee selective silence, and aimed to identify:
1- Selective silence among the employee.
2- The difference between males and females in selective mutism.
The current research is limited to employees of the Iraqi University , and a sample consisting of (406) It was chosen at random, and the number of males was (196) and females (210). With regard to the theoretical framework, the researcher reviewed a number of theories that tried to explain the concept of selective silence, and the researcher developed a theory The planned behavior of Icek Ajzen (1985), and to achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher adopted the selective silence scale of (Majd Hammouda), which is in its final form consisting of (24) paragraphs, and selective silence achieved two types of validity: apparent and constructive validity. As for stability, it was extracted by three Methods for selective silence, as the stability in the re-test was (0.83), Cronbach's alpha for internal consistency was (0.80), and the midterm segmentation was (0.72), and after the researcher used a number of appropriate statistical methods, the following results were reached.
1- Employees have a high degree of selective silence.
2- There are differences between males and females, in favor of males, in selective silence.
Based on the research results, the researcher presented some recommendations and proposals.
