The study is concerned with Zuhair Bin Janab Alkalby’s poetry- an artistic study, shading light on the poet’s life, name, origin, resources of his poetry collection and investigating his poetry from artistic perspective. The study affirms that the poetry that has been explored from his work is very little comparing to his poetry as a whole. One hundred and sixty-four verses have been found as thirty-four pieces in poems or excerpts forms. Such work has not been collected by poetic scholars and narrators, but they have been found separate in different resources.
What has been collected from Zuhair’s poems is related to resources that differ in their subjects and authors’ eras. These poems were in resources that had different topics such as dictionaries, poetic selections, geography, history, literature, language, etc. Some of these types have a crucial role, particularly, the dictionaries as they were distinguished in his poetry as well as reports. As for the artistic aspect of his poetry, it does not exceed the form of classical Arabic poetry. He varied his artistic images, style, and structures, which, in most cases, did not depart from what was familiar to the ancient Arab poets.
