The research examines the causes of the phenomenon of mockery as mentioned in Muslim sources. The aim of the study was to analyze the religious, psychological, and social causes of the phenomenon and to understand the approach of Islam in dealing with it. The research relied on the analytical descriptive metho, following the Quranic verses that address this phenomenon, and then linked these verses to the interpretations and contemporary scientific analyses. The social cause is one of the influencing factors, such as some individuals joining a deviant ideological movement or imitating groups that view religion as an enemy to be fought. The psychological cause is also evident in individuals who are overcome by feelings of inferiority or false superiority, while the intellectual cause includes the adoption of incorrect ideas, ignorance of the true essence of religion, or intellectual extremism. All these causes lead to mockery. The research pointed out the Islamic approach to dealing with the phenomenon, highlighting that Islam approaches it with a high degree of balance, dealing with the issue through warning about its consequences and offering wisdom in addressing it. Among the methods of treatment are dialogue or avoidance, depending on the situation. The research affirms that this phenomenon is not a recent occurrence but has deep roots that extend through time, although it renews itself in every era. The study also emphasized the need to strengthen Islamic awareness to confront it, whether through dialogue, as demonstrated, or through other methods. Furthermore, it is necessary to educate a new generation that understands how to deal with differing opinions while maintaining core principles without compromise.
