Abstract

This research is concerned with studying (the aesthetics of composition for social issues in the pottery of the ancient Babylonian era), which is located in four chapters. The first chapter included a presentation of the research problem, which was summarized in the possibility of answering the following questions: The aesthetic value achieved through its aesthetic artistic composition? (As for its importance, it is to know the conditions for the formation of the artwork in aesthetic formulations and to indicate its artistic style, and it is useful for those interested in the history of art and antiquities in the field of investing social topics for pottery works in the ancient Babylonian era within the limits of the research. As for the study’s goal, it is represented in) Identifying the representations of social issues in the pottery of the ancient Babylonian era and the aesthetics of its composition) and the research is determined by studying the pottery works completed in the ancient Babylonian era    

and within the time period within the limits of the research, which extends from

 (1880-1595) BC.

      As for the second chapter, it was represented by the theoretical framework, including two topics, the first of which was to study (the environment and its impact on art and the ancient Iraqi society), while the second took (features of thought in ancient Iraq), and concluded the theoretical framework with a set of indicators.             

      As for the third chapter, it dealt with the research procedures, which included defining the research community and selecting the research sample amounting to (5)

as a model, then the research tool. As for the approach used, the descriptive analytical approach.

     While the fourth chapter included the results and conclusions of the research, as well as recommendations. Among the findings of the researcher are:                        

 1-The artist of the ancient Babylonian era expressed his intellectual contents by means of realism and coding, to present artistic formations with a deep meaning more than examples and scenes, and this was evident in all samples of the sample.              

The most important conclusions reached by the researcher are:                                 

 2-The old Iraqi artist has a fertile imagination and is able to control the formative elements of artistic work and his creativity in operating the mechanism of those elements in a way that serves the social, religious and political issue and other topics.
