The Effectiveness of Teaching Social Material according to the Infographic Technique in Achieving and Developing Visual Culture of Second-Grade Students

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to find out (The Effectiveness of Teaching Social Material according to the Infographic Technique in Achieving and Developing Visual Culture of Second-Grade Students).The researcher used the experimental design with partial control, with two equal experimental and control groups. Represented (intermediate and secondary governmental day schools in the center of Karbala Governorate associated with the General Directorate of Education of Karbala) and it was (Al-Thuraya middle school for girls), the researcher equalized the two groups in the following variables: chronological age calculated in months, intelligence, previous information test, parental achievement, previous achievement in Sociology subject, and the pretest visual culture test. The scientific subject identified the first three chapters of the Sociology book for the second intermediate grade, 1st edition, 1439 AH / 2018 AD. The behavioral objectives of these chapters were formulated, as their final form reached (160) behavioral goals, and with regard to the two research tools, the researcher deliberately To build two research tools, which was an achievement test in the subject of social studies, consisting of (50) objective items of the multiple choice type with four alternatives. The second tool was represented by the visual culture test, which is in its final form from (25) items. After applying the two search tools and statistically analyzing the results obtained by the researcher using the (Microsoft Excel) program and the ((SPSS) system, the results showed that the students of the experimental group who studied the social subject according to the infographic technique excelled over the students of the control group who studied according to the usual method in the achievement test and the culture test. In the light of the results of the research, the researcher recommended the necessity of using the infographic technique in teaching social studies because of its impact on increasing achievement and developing visual culture. It includes a set of infographic designs that help teachers of social studies in presenting the subject. It works to reduce effort, shorten time and costs, and move away from the traditional style of teaching. Others such as (direction, motivation, visual intelligence, reflective thinking).
