Writing the number in Semitic languages Insular( A comparative linguistic study of what was mentioned in the books of orientalists and Arabs (Akkadian and Arabic as a model)

Abstract

Our research is an attempt to make a linguistic comparison in one of the common themes in the Semitic languages, which is the number of cases where the similarity is great and clear by reading the numbers in this linguistic group.I would also like to highlight the origin of the numbers and their writing, starting from the Akkadian language as it is one of the oldest of these languages.We have relied on the study in the books of linguistic researchers, Arabs and other foreign orientalists who have fought in this field. The results were similar between these two linguistic researches and this is shown by the tables attached here with as we show how to read the numbers in a group of Semitic languages.This research is a modest contribution to shed light on comparative studies in Semitic languages (island, or cart) as it wishes to be called by some professors linguistic researchers. The results of the research were very clear regarding the issue of the issue, as it is one of the common topics in Semitic languages. The idea of finding a way to calculate things is an urgent need to walk his life, so the ancient man invented his different ways of calculating. The Akkadians, who are one of the oldest Semitic peoples, were proactive in finding ways of arithmetic, numbers, and different arithmetic numbers. And so the rest of the Semitic peoples, with their eastern, western, northern and southern groups, took upon themselves the invention and development of counting methods and writing the number and its rules. With the passage of time, the number had rules for writing and reading with it and in various Semitic languages, except that it was within one linguistic group. Therefore, the convergence in reading the number between the languages of this one group was clear. . The Arabic language was one of the most prominent languages in the field of studying number and finding its own rules, and linguists took upon themselves this field and dedicated special sections to it for its study.
