To what extent was Jewish doctrine influenced by the pagan beliefs of the peoples of the ancient Near East? An analytical historical study

Abstract

It is known that the general history of the Jews was full of many migrations, which enabled them to become familiar with many beliefs and different opinions of the countries and nations to which they migrated, to the point that they were influenced and attracted to those beliefs which were characterized as pagan beliefs far removed from the idea of ​​monotheism on which the Jewish religion was based.                                                                   

Hence, we found it essential to uncover the nature of the influence of ancient pagan beliefs on the Jews throughout their long history, to understand the reasons that led them to this influence, to identify the pagan beliefs they worshipped besides the one God, and to examine how their worship of these pagan beliefs impacted their lives as a community living among those nations and peoples. And to know the extent to which the monotheism preached by the prophets of Israel had taken root in the hearts of these people, and how deeply the roots of divinity were embedded in their souls.
