The research problem was represented by a central question: What is the level of employing digital technologies by press management in Iraqi newspaper websites?
This study aims to achieve several objectives, including: identifying the extent to which digital technologies facilitate access to essential information for practicing journalism; understanding how digital technologies are used to enhance cooperation and cultural exchange with other journalistic institutions (both local and international); and revealing the levels of digital technology use in managing Iraqi electronic newspapers.
This research falls under descriptive studies and relied on the survey method. A questionnaire was used as the primary tool to achieve the research objectives. The research population consisted of employees working at Al-Sabah, Al-Mada, and Al-Zaman newspapers.
The following results were reached:
A.The findings indicated that the level of digital technologies facilitating access to important information for journalistic work was high, at a rate of 46.73%.
B.One of the most prominent mechanisms for using digital technologies to enhance cooperation and cultural exchange with other journalistic institutions was digital content exchange, at a rate of 43.93%.
C.The level of using artificial intelligence technologies to develop and improve journalistic operations was medium, with a percentage of 28.97%.
D.The level of employing robot journalism to identify publishable topics was non-existent, at a rate of 40.19%.
E.The effectiveness of using big data analytics to identify audience trends was rated as occasional, at a rate of 38.32%.
F.The level of importance placed on using virtual reality (VR) technology to deliver innovative journalistic experiences was medium, at 47.66%.
G.The level of using cloud computing in archiving journalistic content was medium, with a percentage of 43.93%.
