Abstract:The selection of a research entitled (Chamchamal Residents Revolt in 1991), as a Specific topic of contemporary Kurdish history in general and South Kurdistan in particular, is an important topic ln1991, after the Kurdistan Peopls uprising and the liberation of most of the Kurdish cities and towns, including Chamchamal, this city became the gathering place of the Kurdistan Front forces to go to liberate Kirkuk The lraqi army and air force launched attacks to recapture the liberated areas of Chamchamal, which is the meeting point between Kirkuk and most other parts of Kurdistan, especially Sulaimani province They left Chamchamal and fled to the lranian borders in three different directions. They faced many hardships such as hunger, lack of food, clothes , death of children and the Western countries called on the UN Security Council to issue Resolution 688 and provide a peace zone above Line 36 for the Kurdish People. Aftr this decision the Kurdish People returned to their homes in several stages After the negotions between the Kurdistan Front and the lraqi government began the second uprising to expel the lraqi army from Kurdistan began, after the lraq government lost its power over Kurdistan, so all its administrative institutions withdrew from Kurdistan He was appointed to supervise the affairs of Chamchamal and this council continued its work until after the Kurdistan parliamentary elections in
This research consists of a summary, introduction, part, results and sources as follows: Part One: The residents of Chamchamal in 1991 This consists of three discussions: First: External factors and Internal factors of the failure of the uprising and the start of the revolt In this article, we have discussed a number of external and internal factors that caused the failure of the 1991 uprising in South Kurdistan and the start of the Kurdish nation's revolt Secondly, we talked about the march of the residents of Chamchamal and how this important event happened.
