Abstract

The Companions knew the status of the Sunnah, so they held fast to it and followed the traces of the Messenger (PBUH) and refused to contradict it when it was proven to them. They were cautious in narrating the hadith of the Noble Messenger for fear of falling into error and fearing that lies or distortion would seep into the pure Sunnah, which is one of the sources of Islamic legislation after the Holy Qur’an. For this reason, the Companions took every path that would enable them to preserve the pure Sunnah, and among them was the Companion Al-Mughira bin Shuba, who had a position in Islam and was one of the companions of the Prophet (PBUH). He played a clear role and left his mark on Islamic history, and he was famous for narrating the hadith, so he had narrations in the two Sahihs and Musnad Ahmad, which is what the research included between its lines. This research derives its value from the character of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah himself. He held a prominent position in Islam and made significant and clear efforts to uphold the truth. He participated in battles, defending Islam and spreading its message. The research also possesses scholarly value through its subject matter: the narrations that reflect the keen interest and dedication of the Companions, including Al-Mughirah, in preserving the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and urging its implementation throughout his life. He bequeathed this wealth of knowledge to his students, who followed his example, thus extending his legacy throughout history, a legacy derived from what he learned and acquired from the Prophet of Mercy.

This research employs an inductive, historical, and descriptive methodology, through which the life of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may God be pleased with him), his status, and his most important narrations found in the two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) and Musnad Ahmad are presented.
