Social intelligence is considered one of the most important concepts that contribute to building positive human relationships and achieving effective interaction among members of society. It refers to an individual's ability to understand others and deal with them wisely, consciously, and skillfully in a way that promotes cooperation, understanding, and social harmony. The Holy Qur’an preceded modern studies in highlighting the dimensions of social intelligence through its educational and ethical teachings that regulate human relations and encourage proper interaction with others.
This study examines the concept of social intelligence from a Qur’anic perspective, showing that it is based on a set of values and behaviors such as wisdom, effective communication, empathy, self-control, respect for others, and good morals. The study also explores the Qur’anic foundations of social intelligence, including faith in Allah, awareness of His presence, commitment to Islamic ethics, cooperation, tolerance, justice, consultation (Shura), and following the example of the Prophets in their interactions with people.
Furthermore, the study discusses the practical applications of social intelligence in the Qur’an through the ethics of dialogue, conflict management, building healthy social relationships, and strengthening the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among members of society. It also highlights Qur’anic examples that embody social intelligence, particularly in the methods used by the Prophets in calling their people with wisdom, good advice, patience, and compassion.
The study concludes that the Holy Qur’an provides a comprehensive educational framework for developing social intelligence through the promotion of moral and social values that help individuals understand themselves and others and interact positively within society. It also emphasizes the significant role of Islamic education in fostering social intelligence, thereby contributing to the development of a cohesive society characterized by respect, cooperation, and mutual compassion.
