Images of the Other: Women in the Iraqi Novel

Abstract

The study aims to reveal the image of women in the Iraqi feminist novel in the light of the theory of cultural criticism by clarifying the concepts and elements of the formation of the cultural image of the other; And the image of the Iraqi woman (Struggler - Unwilling) in the Iraqi feminist novel. The openness of the Iraqi feminist novelist text, we found the narrative texts multiple and diverse, employed all tools, languages, polyphony, and dialogues, and absorbed other literary genres, to serve the narrative narrative text. The image in the light of cultural studies has become a representation of cultural behavioral patterns. Cultural patterns revealed through the general reading of the interpretation of the fictional text the portrayal of women as Struggler activists or Unwilling from male society.

The openness of Iraqi feminist fiction is evident in its diverse and multifaceted narratives, which employ a wide range of tools, languages, voices, and dialogues, and incorporate other literary genres to serve the narrative form. In light of cultural studies, the image has become a representation of cultural behavioral patterns. A general reading and interpretation of the novel reveals cultural patterns that portray women as either strong fighters or marginalized figures within a patriarchal society
