The research deals with the study of the structure of metallurgical industries in Maysan's governorate, these industries are one of the important pillars in improving economic growth, because they work to provide the products that the market requires, as it is characterized by absorbing unemployed workforce and contributes to providing basic raw materials for many sectors, as well as it contributes to improving the livelihood of individuals by providing opportunities Work and infrastructure development. It stimulates innovation and social development by providing technology and skills and thus contributes to developing the capabilities of the workforce, and contributes to raising the level of luxury and achieving economic stability.
The industrial structure is studied according to several criteria that were approved through a field study of Maysan Governorate. The study relied on a regional approach in selecting Maysan Province as the study area and also relied on inductive and descriptive approaches, as well as the use of quantitative analysis and data and information analysis after obtaining them through field study, collation and tabulation.
The study showes that there is a disparity in the structure of metallurgical industries in Maysan governorate, and most of them are small-sized establishments, except for four medium-sized establishments, and all of them belong to the private sector.
The research reached the most important conclusions that characterised the structure of the metal industries in Maysan Governorate, which varied in size to include 17 types of metal products. The industrial sector in the study area is characterised by a lack of capital invested in industrial activities, as well as the small size of the area used for the establishment and high rents.
