Abstract

The research aims to design a guidance program based on brief, solution-centered therapy to reduce the effects of domestic violence on abused female students, and to identify its effectiveness in reducing the effects of domestic violence on abused female students by testing the following null hypotheses:

1.There 1. There is no statistically significant difference at the significance level of (0.05) between the mean ranks of reducing the effects of domestic violence among the students of the experimental and control groups.

2.2. The brief, solution-centered therapy approach is not effective in reducing the effects of domestic violence among middle school students. The experimental group's score is equal to or greater than Black's adjusted ratio of (1.2).

The study sample consisted of (14) female students, divided into two groups. The first group was experimental, and its members were exposed to the proposed counseling program. The second group, also an experimental group, was the same number and was not exposed to the program. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher designed a counseling program based on brief, solution-centered therapy. In addition, the researcher developed the research instrument (the Domestic Violence Scale), consisting of (35) items. The psychometric properties of the scale, including validity and reliability, were verified. After that, the researcher conducted the program sessions, which numbered (8) counseling sessions, implemented over a period of four weeks, with two sessions per week, each session lasting (45-60) minutes. Then, a post-test was administered, and the data were statistically analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed the following:

·There  is a statistically significant difference between the mean ranks of the experimental and control groups in reducing the effects of domestic violence, in favor of the experimental group.

·There is a statistically significant difference between the mean ranks of the pre- and post-tests for the experimental group on the domestic violence scale, in favor of the post-test.
