Abstract

The research addresses verbal grandeur and its aesthetic impact in the poetry of Ibn Darraj al-Qastali, focusing on the role of grand expression in enhancing the poetic structure and the artistic imagery of the text. The research points out that grandeur manifests in the solidity of expression, its sweetness, and its distance from coarseness, which grants the poetic text a splendor and brilliance arising from the quality of word arrangement and meticulous weaving. It also discusses the role of grand expression in shaping artistic imagery, showcasing the poet's skill in selecting his words to convey meaning in the most beautiful form, thus integrating meaning and structure. The role of robust diction is evident at the stylistic construction level through its presence in verbal, nominal, declarative, and informational sentences, as well as through certain syntactic phenomena. Verbs, nouns, vocatives, fronting and postponing, and ellipsis are distributed harmoniously and coherently with the meaning to impart beauty to the poetic text.  The study concluded that robust diction in the poetry of Ibn Darraj was appropriate to the intended meaning, achieving harmony between sound and semantics, enriching the poetic text with artistic beauty, and enhancing the poet's expressive ability to convey meanings and emotions in a solid, strong, and refined style.
